Ability to work in a team environment, perform tasks requiring strong attention to detail, read blueprints, utilize computer skills, operate power tools, and work to tolerances.
Experience in carpentry/cabinetry, auto restoration, or manufacturing/production fields is relevant to the job tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Woodworking, wood finishing, auto body & painting experience in a technical environment, or completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making is preferred. Completion of a current year youth apprenticeship program in the relevant area is also advantageous. Position Purpose: Under direct supervision, learns and performs basic skills related to the fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. Job Description: Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Learns entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. Develops technical competency and problem-solving abilities for progression to technician level.
Uses safety procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools, and materials (laminates, veneers, cap strips) to develop proficiency in furniture preparation and fabrication.
Utilizes material tracking systems to create parts demand, track issues, and sign off on completed work.
Follows all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, uses PPE, and ensures aircraft interior is protected. Assists in related initiatives.
Other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Must be computer literate.
