Electrical Engineer - Fishing Boat Manufacturer - FLORIDA

Summary for the Electrical Engineer - Fishing Boat Manufacturer - FLORIDA

Develop detailed electrical systems plan for new models to meet NMMA/ABYC/USCG and customer expectations. Design and document boat electrical systems, source unique components and provide direction in construction of preproduction boats.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer - Fishing Boat Manufacturer - FLORIDA

  • Generate preliminary and detailed boat electrical systems plan from standard and optional equipment specifications to meet NMMA/ABYC/USCG and other applicable standards, as well as ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Design, document and direct in the construction of new vessel AC/DC electrical harnesses, switch panels, power generation,
  • Engage with engineering resources to ensure a cohesive integration of the electrical systems and mechanical systems throughout vessel.
  • Provide project reviews and status updates per key milestone schedule and project demands.
  • Implement testing and evaluation of new and existing electrical systems and components as necessary to ensure effective, robust design.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the electrical plan for new models, ensuring schedule attainment on pre-production boats.
  • Create appropriate engineering drawings and specifications to source and acquire electrical components from outside sources that will be used in the construction of new models.
  • Regularly convey the components and cost of the electrical systems to the BOM Coordinator through engineering documentation so that the system cost can be accurately captured and the cost target can be met.
  • Responsible for aiding in the development of the kit structure and the manufacturing plan for the electrical systems on all new vessels.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the launch team and production engineering team to assure accurate and complete work instructions for all electrical systems.
  • Implement and execute on model year changes that impact electrical systems.
  • Conduct and schedule work so that department schedule and key milestones are met.
  • Participate in resolution of ECN and CAR issues for production.


Education and/or Experience for the Electrical Engineer - Fishing Boat Manufacturer - FLORIDA

  • Electrical engineering degree.
  • 3+ years of experience.
